1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Wedly, having its registered office at 119 Govind Nagar, Sector-13, Hiran Magri, Udaipur -313002, Rajasthan - India ("Wedly", "we", "us"), governing your access to and use of wedly.me, the Wedly mobile applications, and all related features (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy, each incorporated by reference.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to create a Wedly account. You represent that any information you provide is accurate, and that any candidate whose biodata you create, upload, or store on Wedly — including yourself, a family member, or a person whose biodata a Household received from a third party — is 18 years of age or older. Wedly does not knowingly host biodata describing anyone under 18, and will remove any such record on discovery.

3. What the Service is

Wedly lets you and your Household create a private marriage-biodata page, share it through revocable private links or downloadable PDFs, and — where you enable it — organise biodata your Household received from other families using our Inbox feature (Section 8).

The Service is a private organisational tool. It is not: a public matrimonial directory, a matching, ranking, or compatibility-scoring engine, a chat or messaging network, a database searchable by anyone other than your own Household, or a verification, background-check, or due-diligence service. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any biodata and for your own due diligence before making any personal or family decision. Wedly plays no role in, and makes no representation about, the outcome of any introduction, meeting, or marriage.

4. Accounts and Households

4.1 Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

4.2 Household. An account may create or join a "Household" — a group of members collaborating on one or more biodata pages and, if enabled, Inbox. The Household Owner may invite Contributors and Viewers, assign and revoke roles, and remove members at any time. Roles determine what each member can view, edit, or share within the Household.

4.3 Household composition. Every Household Member must be at least 18 years old. The Owner is responsible for ensuring members it invites meet this requirement and for the conduct of its members within the Household.

5. Sharing your own biodata

You may generate private share links or downloadable PDFs of your own biodata page, with configurable audience (selected recipients, or anyone with the link), expiry, and revocation. A revoked or expired link stops working immediately for new access, but Wedly cannot retrieve or delete a copy a recipient has already downloaded, screenshotted, or forwarded outside the Service.

7. Your content and responsibilities

7.1 Ownership. You retain ownership of the biodata content, photos, and files you upload for yourself or a candidate you are authorised to represent. You grant Wedly a limited licence to host, store, process (including OCR extraction), and transmit that content solely to provide the Service to you.

7.2 Accuracy and authority. You warrant that you have the right and any necessary authority to upload and share the content you provide, and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

7.3 Prohibited conduct. Use of the Service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Breach of the Acceptable Use Policy is a breach of these Terms.

8. Inbox — storing and sharing biodata you received from others

8.1 What Inbox is. Inbox lets your Household store, organise, and privately share biodata that other people or families have sent you — for example, over WhatsApp, email, or in person — for the purpose of your own family's marriage search. Wedly stores, secures, extracts fields from, and, at your request or the request of the person described, deletes this data. Wedly, not your Household, is the Data Fiduciary responsible for this data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

8.2 Your responsibilities. By using Inbox, you confirm and agree that:

(a) you will use Inbox only to help your own family consider a marriage prospect, and never for any commercial, brokerage, publicity, research, or other purpose;

(b) you received each biodata you store from the person it describes, their family, or someone acting on their behalf, for the purpose of being considered in a marriage search;

(c) you will not add, upload, or retain biodata describing anyone under 18, or anything the sender or the person described has asked you not to keep or share;

(d) you will not copy, screenshot, download, print, publish, or forward a Received Profile outside the sharing tools we provide;

(e) you will keep confidential any information you learn about a person described in a Received Profile, and use it only for your family's evaluation;

(f) you understand that the person described in a Received Profile can ask Wedly to delete it, and that if they do, Wedly will delete it — together with your notes, tags, and any shares of it — from your Household, and will notify you that it was removed (without naming the requester); and

(g) any Household Member you invite to see Inbox content is an adult member of your family or close personal circle, and not a professional matchmaker, broker, or bureau, unless you have a separate written agreement with Wedly for that use.

You must affirmatively accept these undertakings, separately from these Terms, the first time you use Inbox, and again if we materially change them.

8.3 Retention. Received Profiles are subject to the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy (Section 7), including automatic archiving and deletion, which you cannot disable.

8.4 Sharing a Received Profile (Share Grant). You may privately share a single Received Profile, or a shortlist, with one individual recipient at a time, through Wedly's Share Grant tool only. Share Grants are view-only, cannot be downloaded, expire within 30 days, and cannot be re-shared further by the recipient. You may not create a public or open-access link to a Received Profile.

8.5 No warranty on received content. Wedly has no role in creating a Received Profile and makes no representation as to its accuracy. You are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying any biodata you store or receive through Inbox.

8.6 Suspension. We may suspend or remove your access to Inbox, or to specific cards, if we believe these Terms or the Inbox undertakings have been breached, or in response to a valid request from the person described in a Received Profile.

9. Intellectual property

The Wedly name, logo, app, and underlying software are owned by Wedly and protected by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any Wedly intellectual property to you. Nothing in these Terms transfers any Wedly intellectual property to you.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." WEDLY DOES NOT VERIFY, ENDORSE, OR GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OF ANY BIODATA, WHETHER YOUR OWN, A FAMILY MEMBER'S, OR A RECEIVED PROFILE. WEDLY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER OR THIRD PARTY, FOR ANY INTRODUCTION MADE OR NOT MADE THROUGH THE SERVICE, OR FOR ANY DECISION YOU MAKE BASED ON CONTENT STORED OR SHARED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, Wedly is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from account settings; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data on deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, or to comply with a request under Section 8.2(f).

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory consumer protections, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email before they take effect, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
